Shinsuke Ikeuchi (b. 1984, Fukuoka, Japan) is an artist working in mixed media, principally metal and special resin. Beginning with chōkin — Japanese metal engraving — in 2003, he has developed a practice that preserves the fluid, molten state of metal in finished form, giving inorganic material an organic, almost fleshly presence. Since expanding into two-dimensional works in 2015, he has held solo exhibitions at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, Matsuya Ginza and Ginza Tsutaya Books, and has shown work in New York, Paris and Taipei. In 2018 he received the Excellence Award at the 3rd Contemporary Artists Exhibition (Fukuoka Asian Art Museum) and the Fukuoka Governor's Award at the 4th (The National Art Center, Tokyo).
